Omar is an Associate in Shahid Law Firm’s Disputes and International Arbitration practices. He brings a dynamic blend of academic excellence and practical experience, having previously interned at several top-tier law firms, which enriched his understanding of the legal profession and gave him valuable exposure to a wide range of complex legal matters.

Omar’s passion for the law is evident not only in his professional career but also in his commitment to continuous personal and professional development. From the earliest stages of his career, he has participated in numerous extracurricular activities and moot court competitions, which have broadened his understanding of various legal disciplines. This hands-on experience has strengthened his legal acumen, particularly in the areas of dispute resolution and arbitration, allowing him to provide clients with insightful and effective legal strategies.

  1. Represented a Korean construction company in a multi-million-dollar dispute under the CRCICA Arbitration rules, and Egyptian Law as a governing law, against State Entity, national company and Kuwaiti company. The dispute involved different legal aspects such as the extension of arbitration clause to a non-signatory party, and the liquidation of letters of guarantee.
  2. Collaborated with a German Law Firm representing a leading German Company in the cement Sector in an ICSID Case against the Arab Republic of Egypt. The dispute concerns the expropriation exercised towards the investor and the compensation for the damage arising thereto.
  3. Advising an international company operating in the Oil & Gas sector in a dispute related to the collection of debt in foreign currency arising from the execution of Gas Exploration and Exploitation Agreement.
  4. Participated in several lawsuits in different legal matters such as construction contracts and employment, in addition to affairs related to corporate criminality.

Omar holds a double law degree from the Institut de Droit des Affaires Internationales (IDAI) at Cairo University, providing him with a solid foundation in both Egyptian and European law. He is also pursuing a Master’s in Arbitration at IDAI, enhancing his expertise in dispute resolution and international arbitration.
