Mehiar Joulji

Mehiar is a Senior Associate specializing in the Corporate and M&A department at Shahid Law Firm. Since joining Shahid Law Firm in 2016, Mehiar has played a pivotal role in providing legal opinions and preparing essential corporate documents, including articles of incorporation, by-laws, commercial contracts, memorandums of understanding, shareholders’ agreements, and share purchase agreements. He has been instrumental in setting up companies and branch offices in Egypt, organizing board and shareholders’ meetings, drafting minutes, and managing corporate secretarial work. Mehiar also conducts legal due diligence and performs comprehensive legal research on various matters.

Throughout his tenure, Mehiar has represented multiple companies in their acquisitions of local targets and has contributed significantly to transaction documentation for clients involved in public offerings and tender offers. His extensive work on due diligence exercises spans various industries, showcasing his versatility and depth of experience in corporate law.

Mehiar worked closely with major multinational and local corporations on various mandates including but not limited to:

Advising Unilever on the merger of its 5 local entities into one surviving entity and assisting on implementing the merger’s procedures.
Advising Lotus for Agriculture Development and Investment on the procedures related to the listing of a percentage of its shares with the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
Advising Mountain View on several joint venture and acquisition projects in addition to a complex capital restructuring plan related to its local group of companies.
Acting as local counsel to Ferro Corporation in the sale of its tile coatings business to Pigments Spain, S.L. a company of the Esmalglass-Itaca-Fritta group.
Advising several multinational corporations like Sysmex, Elekta, Acciona, Zoetis, Maxam and Xiaomi on several corporate and commercial compliance matters

Mehiar holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the French University in Egypt and Nantes University in France and has completed his L.L.B. in Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.
