Georges’ primary focus is on projects and dispute resolution, specifically EPC contracts, oil & gas, transportation industries. Georges also acted for and represented leading multinational companies and organizations in hospitality, pharmaceutical, media, insurance and financial services industries. Georges represented his clients before Egyptian courts and arbitral tribunals under various rules, including ICC and CRCICA, while also being adept of other rules like DIAC, SIAC and LCIA.

  • Represented US and Irish leading pharmaceutical companies in dismissing claims amounting to USD 5 Million, brought before Egyptian Courts by an Egyptian distribution company.
  • Represented a leading Cyprian company in the Oil and Gas industry in a CRCICA arbitration claim with respect to drilling and workover operations. The claim was brought forth against the client by the company working as the operator of the drilling rig, and amounts to circa USD 20 Million. As co-lead counsel, Georges contributed to dismissing 99% of the claim.
  • Represented a renowned contractor in a CRCICA arbitration claim, in connection to a construction dispute against a well-known US establishment. Georges contributed to securing an arbitral award favorable to the contractor, ordering the US establishment to pay 100% of the claimed amounts and dismissing the US establishment’s counterclaim.

Georges also has experience in advising clients in various industries such as, transportation, oil and gas, construction and hotel management including:

  • Advising a renowned contractor group involving multiple companies from different countries, in the transportation and infrastructure industry on their legal position and commercial options related to their projects with the Egyptian National Railways. Georges advised on project related claims such as price adjustment, extension of time, prolongation and disruption, certifications, preventive acts and guarantee claims.
  • Advising a Korean infrastructure leading company in in the transportation and infrastructure industry on their legal position and commercial options related to their projects with the Egyptian National Railways and the National Authority for Tunnels.
  • Advising a large number of insurance companies on their exposure as re-insurers to cover losses sustained as a result of business interruption claims.

Georges holds (i) a master’s degree in international and European Business Law from Paris I – Pantheon Sorbonne, as of 2019; (ii) a bachelor’s degree of law from Cairo University in 2017 and (iii) a bachelor’s degree of law from Paris I – Pantheon Sorbonne in 2016.
