Ali Rifaah El Tahtawy is a Senior Associate at Shahid Law Firm, working within the International Business Law and Dispute Resolution departments.   • Represented an Egyptian oil and gas company in an arbitration pertaining to the sale of 2 concessions under Egyptian law and CRCICA rules.
  • Drafted expert opinions on Egyptian and Kuwaiti law in the context of cases examined by foreign courts.
  • Advised a major Chinese company in preparation for a multi- million Dollars construction arbitration under CRCICA rules pertaining to delay, disruption and variations.
  • Advised Egyptian companies in preparation for an ICC arbitration governed by English law.
  • Assisted in the preparation of the FIDIC 2017 Red Book.
  • Assisted in the drafting of a clause-by-clause commentary of the FIDIC 2017 Red Book.
  • Acted as counsel for a major Qatari company in a construction arbitration under Qatari law and ICC rules.
  • Acted as counsel for an Egyptian company in an arbitration under Libyan law and ICC rules pertaining a contract for works and the delay in the completion and installation of a telecommunication network.
  • Acted as counsel for a major English company in a construction arbitration under Iraqi law and ICC rules pertaining to force majeure and the impossibility to complete work on time.

Before joining Shahid Law Firm, Ali Rifaah El Tahtawy practiced law at several leading firms in Cairo and Paris, gaining valuable international experience. He holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in International Business Law from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, solidifying his expertise in both local and international legal frameworks.
