Shahid Law Firm’s involvement in Employment and Labor cases include:

  • Advising Ariston Thermo Group on the whole shut down of their Representative Office in Egypt and the redundancy process to be carried out with respect to the local employees in addition to assisting Ariston to transfer their current employees to Ariston Thermo Egypt LLC and opening a social insurance file for the said entity.
  • Providing legal advice for TTEC on various labour, and social insurance matters. Preparing drafts of employment contracts for the staff to be hired by the newly incorporated company in Egypt. Advising TTEC on the statutory measures to be undertaken by the Company as a result of COVID-19 and the mechanism of applying these measures on its employees.
  • Advising Globeleq on the provisions of the Egyptian Labour Law, drafting employment contracts for the Company’s staff, who will be transferred from a local acquired company to a O&M company, which will be established by Globeleq in Egypt and advising Globeleq on the transfer of employment of the said employees from one local entity to the other in accordance with the provisions of the Egyptian Labour Law.
  • Providing Gewiss SpA with profound legal advice on the provisions of the Egyptian Labour Law, drafting employment contracts for the Company’s staff, who will be employed under the newly established company in Egypt and assisting the local entity in opening its social insurance file and have its employees socially insured.
  • Representing Turkish Airlines on day-to-day employment and social insurance matters including drafting of employment contracts, executing staff members’ termination, conducting administrative investigations, handling their day-to-day labour and social insurance matters, representing them before various labour and social insurance offices, responding to the different labour and social insurance inspections that take place on the Company’s branches all over the governorates of Egypt and settling any disputes or complaints filed by their employees against them. Advising on various labour compliance matters including indemnities, pensions, end-of service compensations, benefits, allowances and employees’ reallocation. Advising Turkish Airlines on the statutory measures to be undertaken by the Company as a result of COVID-19 and the mechanism of applying these measures on its employees. Representing the Company in various labour court cases.
  • Advising Roche Diagnostics Egypt for Trading SAE on various labour matters including which termination of employment and redundancy and conducting administrative investigations. Heading the negotiations to amicably terminate the employment contacts of some of the Company’s redundant employees and finalizing all related documentation/agreement(s) in relation to these mandates. Renewing the work permits of the Company’s foreigners. Reviewing the Company’s policies and procedures and amending employment contracts. Assisting the Company in transferring its social insurance file from one social insurance office to another.
  • Advising Julius Baer on various labour matters including which termination of employment and redundancy. Heading the negotiations to amicably terminate the employment contacts of some of the Company’s redundant employees and finalizing all related documentation/agreement(s) in relation to these mandates.
  • Advising KHS on the whole shut down of their local premises in Egypt and the redundancy process to be carried out with respect to the local employees in addition to assisting KHS to transfer their current employees to the new local entity. Drafting employment contracts for the new employees and drafting termination documents for the redundant employees as well.
  • Advising the local entities of F.Hoffmann La Roche AG on the end-of-service payments, the application of the provisions of the Egyptian Labour and Tax Laws on exempting such payments from payroll tax and drafting the required documents to this effect as well as advising  the Company on the legal provisions regulating the distribution of dividends on the Company’s employees and proposing restructuring plan for the Company in order to be in compliance with the provisions of the Egyptian Laws.
  • Drafting employment contracts for Scatec Solar and providing legal advice on various labour matters, including but not limited to including termination of employment, redundancy, administrative investigations, sick leaves and advising on labour compliance matters including indemnities, pensions, end-of service compensations, benefits and allowances, drafting secondment agreements and legal disciplinary actions. Assisting Scatec Solar in executing staff members’ termination, drafting all relevant documents in relation to the said termination and obtaining work permits for foreigners in the context of Scatec’s establishment of solar and wind power generation activity in Egypt under the first round of the feed-in tariff scheme. Handling a labour court case on behalf of the Company.
  • Advising Expro Egypt LLC on day-to-day employment matters including, executing staff members’ termination, conducting administrative investigations, handling their day-to-day labour and social insurance matters, representing them before various labour and social insurance offices, responding to the different labour and social insurance inspections that take place on the Company’s premises and settling any disputes or complaints filed by their employees against them. Advising on various labour compliance matters including indemnities, pensions, end-of service compensations, benefits, and allowances and employees’ reallocation.
  • Providing the local company of Altadia Group with legal advice and assistance in relation to the Company’s day-to-day labour compliance matters, including but not limited to including termination of employment, redundancy, administrative investigations, sick leaves and advising on labour compliance matters including indemnities, pensions, end-of service compensations, benefits and allowances and legal disciplinary actions.
  •  Advising the Altadia Group on post-acquisition procedures in relation to their employees as well as heading the re-negotiation of the Collective Agreement concluded with one of the group’s legal entities in Egypt. Assisting the group’s legal entities in amicably settling all these past dues at the Social Insurance Authority in different governorates in Egypt and undertaking the corrective actions to be in compliance with the provisions of the Egyptian Labour and Social Insurance Laws. Communicating and liaising between different governmental authorities and the group’s legal entities in Egypt. Handling more than forty labour court cases on behalf of the Company.
  • Providing Concentrix with legal advice and assistance in relation to the Company’s labour compliance matters, including but not limited to including termination of employment, administrative investigations, and advising on labour compliance matters including indemnities, end-of service compensations, benefits and allowances and legal disciplinary actions, as well as providing the legal advice on the process of obtaining work permits for the Company’s expats, which are 450 expats.
  • Providing Cambridge with an overview on the Egyptian Labor Law as well as drafting employment contracts.
  • Providing AstraZeneca with a comprehensive overview of the Egyptian Labor Law.
  • Drafting employment contracts for Scatec Solar and providing legal advice on various labor matters.
  • Representing Yahoo! in the amicable termination of 110 employees as part of Yahoo! ceasing activities in Egypt.
  • Obtaining an exceptional approval for the 9:1 rule for 300 expats for ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions.
  • Assisting Sonesta with employment and labor matters with respect to hotels and resorts managed in Egypt.
